BBC explanation can be summed to this. The Japanese are paranoid, alienated and anti-social people, who regularly shun human contact and live their lives behind masks. There is something to this thesis. There is a great deal of misogynation in Japan's male dominated society and Japanese female backlash which has resulted in the collapse of sexual relations between men and women.

But maybe the most important factor in Japan's mysteriously low death rate, is that THEY ARE AT LEAST PHYSICALLY FAR MORE HEALTHY THEN THE AVERAGE AMERICAN OR BRIT!

Their health system is not under attack by profit lusting corporations. Their youth have not been brainwashed into becoming morbidly obese by equaly predatory corporations. Maybe this Pandemic is really just a normal flu for a healthy population and a mortal threat to an extremely vulnerable in every way population being one paycheck away from living on the streets.

The Japanese also benefit by being able to profit from the eternal American war program all over the World while contributing little more than some "yen" to the cause. They don't have to recruit immigrants to populate mercenary armies in these never ending wars. This helps keep the cultural friction to a minimum. Something which also has the side effect of reducing contact with foriegn pathogens of all kinds.

The only lessons to be learned from Japan is that eternal war, for profit health and food industry, etc... are bad for your health. Japan can keep its sick relationship between its women and men to themselves. I only hope that Japanese women will one day overthrow that evil misogynist capitalist system. Of course they will need the help from the entire proletariat class to do so.
