The real story behind the coup in Bolivia

Evo nationalized his energy sector, but did not turn this sector over to the working class. He instead spent much of his presidency setting the police and military on unions. Instead his petty bourgeois technocratic handlers led by the slick vice president Linera cashed in. This former Castroite failed Marxist guerrilla leader lived a very corrupt life, the highlight of which was his marriage to a beautiful decades younger former beauty queen Claudia Fernández Valdivia. To recompense her for the disagreeable duty of sleeping with an old man for the rest of her life, Linera gave her important and lucrative political positions in government, in spite of her having neither experience or any education to merit the positions.

Note how this supposedly Marxist not prematurely grey haired Linera gets married. There is no such thing as religious Marxist. I can't understand what old men have to talked about with much younger women after they marry and have sex. Patronizing relationships are so boring. Maybe Chomsky can relate his own experiences marrying a much younger women, in another best selling book, and the royalties keep rolling in. And there are so many excellent women form his own generation to pick from.

Linera was the White elitist brains behind the identity politician indigenous buffoon Evo. So enamoured with their corruption that all kinds of austerity was imposed on the working class and peasants. Strikes including those from the indigenous people from which Evo originally came from became ubiquitous. Multinationals flowed in from primarily Brazil, but also as far as China, stepping over the rights of labor and environmental protection. All of which resulted in the dramatic loss in voters and voter participation in the recent election. Did not Evo see how Asad, Gaddafi, etc... corruption and betrayal of their working classes resulted in the destruction of their respective societies and of course their fall from power???? The answer is clear these bastards are professional parasites and misleaders who make an excellent living screwing workers.

Note how that Argentina former so called progressive President Fernández de Kirchner is sneaking back into power as the new vice president to austerity imposing neoliberal president. She is no doubt not satisfied with the loot she and her now deceased presidential husband previously stole. The spectrum of petty bourgeois Stalinists to their Mama Earth devotees learn nothing and care even less for their respective people. Given that nationalism constitutes their only virtue and has proven to wholly lacking in substance, it is safe to announce the death of Social Democracy in all of its forms, from Liberalism to Stalinism.

What is the worst aspect of this charade, next to that of the suffering of the Bolivarian masses at the hands of reimposed former fascist class is the revisionism of equally nationalistic fellow travelers outside the country. People who have spent no time documenting the betrayals and corruption of the Evo regime are now waxing poetic over the wonderful social programs that he implemented. They provide no evidence of such programs nor any context. Natural gas production greatly increased during Evo's presidency, due to extremely high World energy prices.Something Chavez also took advantage of. Only he delivered far more programs then Evo, no doubt inspired by the premature CIA coup. Chavez also learnt the value of buying your police and military. Lessons that Evo evidently never learnt.

Good people from like the inexperienced Lee Camp to older professional misleaders like Hedges are all focusing on the coup like it was solely the fault of CIA machinations and not of what is the real cause of gross corruption and betrayal of Evo and his Linera led handlers. What makes this cowardly racing from his country without the least resistance to an almost bloodless coup particularly disgusting is that the very same leaders that were previously removed from power at the cost of much blood are the new rulers or I should say administrators for Global Imperialism. Why are these criminals still in Bolivia, in government and leading critical economic institutions? This coup would be far more difficult if they were at least living in their true homeland the US, land of the plutocrats. The answer is the same as in Venezuela and everywhere else in the capitalist World. Capital is sacrosanct and above the law. When will Guido get arrested???
