The leader of the Apollo program was a NAZI, Untersturmführer in the Allgemeine SS, Wernher von Braun. His brutal V-1 and V-2 missiles murdered tens of thousands and where built by prisoners from concentration camps like at Mittelbau-Dora concentration camp , where tens of thousands were worked to death. Instead of being convicted for their many war crimes and punished, they became American heroes. Following the war, von Braun and other leading German scientists were relocated to the United States to work directly for the US Army through CIA's Operation Paperclip, developing the IRBMs, ICBMs, and launchers.

Why not a mention of these uncontroversial facts, by the pseudo Marxists at WSWS/SEP????

A single comment about "A", (all the other reasons were so progressive????) single slightly negative reason why the Americans spent over 100 billion dollars, i.e. propaganda. However, propaganda is not a benign act. The Apollo program contributed directly to the collapse of the Soviet Union which has directly killed millions of people in the Soviet Union and severely harmed billions by releasing any brake on US Imperialism by its collapse. Not a word of the opportunity costs of NOT allocating that same 100 billion dollars in social programs and raising the standard of living for millions of American workers, much less for foreign workers around the World having desperate needs caused by American Imperialist depredations running concurrently with the "glorious" Apollo program.

Need I mention the effect of the propaganda on Americans, encouraging them to support their Empire crimes around the World, justified by an apparently progressive and sexy space program. No doubt many foreigners look the other way at America's crimes as well because of the Moon Program.

It reflects WSWS/SEP scientific illiteracy by commenting how this incredible scientific feat was done with primitive technology compared with today's levels. Where we have not come close to equalling these fantastic feats in spite of the many military and economic gains to be had on the Moon after over 50 years of incredible scientific advances!!! Never once questioning or bringing up the possibility that this plutocracy which has no respect for the truth and is utterly ruthless in propagating its lies and hiding its crimes, i.e JFK or 9-11, could have staged the entire event. There are strong scientific reasons for the inability of 1960's technology being able to do the job back then, especially when considering how much trouble Nasa has today with basic issues like radiation shielding for the astronauts today. We are supposed to believe that fantastic navigation feats were done remotely with an onboard computer powered with 8 bit CPUs. Batteries whose massive weight and limited electrical storage capacity would have made electric cars driving on the moon impossible. No solar panels, but days on the Moon with no recharging of these massive batteries. We are just beginning the introduction of fully electric cars on Earth today. There was a huge differential in temperature between night and day, going from 100C in the day to minus 173C at night. Then there the was the dust issue which would have made insulating and prevent disabling clogging of important machinery impossible, etc, etc.....

WSWS/SEP has to be pollyannas first because they have no basis in the working class and second because their only foundation lies in the middle class whose primary education and experience lies within the social sciences. This is a generic problem for the entire Left, as none of them are anywhere close to the means of production. Thus their transformation of a fundamentally materialist ideology into an theology. Where the past was some kind of Camelot to be returned to. Where one only has to seek a King Arthur to return one to the promised land. Returning one last time to WSWS/SEP lapdog uncritical praise of the greatest and most dangerous Imperialist Capitalist empire in History. It is not the job of a revolutionary publication to heap praise on such a regime for any reason, even if true. The WSWS/SEP reveals its true non working class roots and class foundation in this kind of publication.

PS: I have come to believe that there are only pseudo Marxist parties on the Planet today. Mass consumption is just another way of saying mass corruption. We don't raise children, we manufacture consumers, transactors, worker drones at best and class traitors at worse.

Also note how WSWS/SEP takes so much pleasure in the apparent vindication of one their bourgeois entertainer heroes Kevin Spacey. Not mentioning once how Spacey used his millions to hire a battalion of lawyers and detectives to intimidate his accusers, as well as taking advantage of his many contacts in the bourgeois society. Kevin was also on the Epstein pedaphile express along with his good friend Bill Clinton. These pseudo Marxist think that they are the petty bourgeois of the French revolution era where equality under the law is all that is needed to obtain justice for the working class. That advance was progressive back then, it is a bad joke today. As the bourgeois law system has become just one more market place, where justice is bought, sold and invested in.

Just a tidbit on how WSWS reasoning, they support Spacey's argument that a relationship between an multimillionaire and politically well connected actor over 50 with an 18 years old working class boy could be consensual.

If the WSWS could restrict themselves to their equality before the law fixation and due process to strictly working class figures there would be progressive. However not once have they done so. They prefer to pollute their publication with the defence of the Woody Allens and Charlie Chaplins of the World. Chaplin's horrible over 50 year old relationshipS with 15 year old girls are a not so well publicized part of this very rich capitalist of working class movies.
