According to this professional economist who calls himself a Marxist. Workers should be given the choice between working in cooperatives in which they rule but don't necessarily have to own or even manage and businesses in which the Capitalists rule in the traditional sense. You listen to him sprout this nonsense on Putin propaganda channel RT where many pseudo progressives troll:

This is Wolff proposal:

"We therefore propose reorganizing enterprises such that workers become their own bosses. Specifically, that means placing the workers in the position of their own collective board of directors, rather than having directors be non-workers selected by major shareholders. This is not primarily a matter of workers as owners of these enterprises (fine, but not required), nor primarily as managers (likewise fine, but not required). It is the tasks of direction—the decision making now assigned usually and primarily to corporate boards of directors and only secondarily to the major shareholders who choose them—that must be transferred to the workers collectively. We call such enterprises worker self-directed enterprises (WSDEs)."

Of course it have not escaped the notice of this Capitalist Professor is that his system has already been implemented in Germany. These company unions neither own nor manage but it does kowtow to the profit over of everything else imperative.

it is called Mitbestimmungsgesetz (in English, Codetermination Act) of 1976 is a German law which requires companies of over 2000 employees to have half the supervisory board of directors as representatives of workers.

Not that full-fledged multinational cooperatives actually owned by the workers themselves don't exist. A Roman Catholic priest under the dictatorship of Franco in Spain organized the Mandragon Cooperative which now is laying off workers and cutting salaries just like of all it brother organizations , i.e. corporation under the imperative of profit maximization.

The problem with Wolff proposal is precisely in its liberality. Putting into competition an organization that puts profit over everything else with an organization that does not only leads to the eventual failure of the worker organization of any sort. Wolff is well aware of this contradiction. His true purpose is to buy the capitalist system a few more years of mayhem and profit.

Wolff is a capitalist firefighter. Sometimes it is necessary to build small fires in front of a huge fire storm to deny it a path too vital areas. A fire can only move through an area in which there is fuel. This is called the "Controlled Burn". This action given the appearance of radicalism, but it is exactly the opposite. Wolff is worst kind of scoundrel. The kind that exactly knows what he is doing.

Of course his bitter medicine is sweeten with the most appealing whining and nagging exposing all that workers are suffering from in order to draw them in, as some kind of liberal Venus fly trap
